A Mixed Pseudo-spectral FFT-FE Method for Asymmetric Nonlinear Heat Transfer of a Functionally Graded Hollow Cylinder

In this article, a novel spectral method based on the integral transform and finite element is introduced for nonlinear thermal analysis of hollow cylinder under asymmetric boundary excitations. The material properties are temperature-dependent vary in terms spatial coordinates. This dependency makes problem to be nonlinear. intended heat conduction equation discretized using FEM radial direction. Fast Fourier (FFT) technique with uniform distribution harmonics circumferential direction, used discretize periodic domain conditions. such problems, Pseudo-spectral technique, as an evolved model method, utilized whenever variables or there exists term. convolution sum part appropriately space. Thermal conditions at inner surface considered asymmetrical form. compliance other analytical numerical solutions, present mixed-method benefits from fast rate convergence high accuracy.
